Looking into a couple of HP improvement options. I have a set of vintage crane gold 1.7's on the 489. Was thinking of going with 1.8 but only found 2 choices Harland or Scorpions. Looking for input. Also I have a port matched Weiand 7513 manifold, thinking of the Victor Jr. 2902. Thoughts as well?

To save a little search time. Here is what I currently have going on.
Drivetrain as follows 454 30 over with the Eagle stroker kit; Steel Eagle 4.250 stroke crank, Eagle 6.385" 4340 H-beam 3D rods, SRP forged 10.3-1 pistons J&E plasma moly file fit rings. Comp solid cam: 294S(248 / 248 @.050 .595/.595 Crane Gold 1.7-1 Roller Rockers, Ported Edelbrock rectangle port aluminum heads. 300cc short and 315 long intake runners, 2.19/1.88 valves, True roller timing chain, Moroso 6 qt oil pan, high volume pump, windage tray. Weiand X-celerator port matched intake, Holley 950 CFM with billet base plate and metering plates. Jetted 81/83, Carter 172 mechanical fuel pump, stock 3/8's line, HEI with MSD 6AL, WEIAND action-plus aluminum water pump
2” Headman headers. Through a M20, Moroso carrier with 4:10 gears, Hoosier Drag slicks, Metco rear uppers and lower control arms, KYB rear shocks and comp fronts.

Sounds like a pretty sweet and stout set up. What ets are you looking for? Or do you just want more umph, and not looking for quicker ets?

The engine combo looks fine. You might be able to pick up a few more ponies with a port matched Edelbrock Air-Gap intake. Unless u want that high RPM all out power, then try the Victor Jr. Other places to look are air filter setup, exhaust (pipes and mufflers). You could look at ways of getting less power loss through the drive train. You could also put the car on the diet.

It is really a cruise-in car that I started running a couple years ago. I have all the original parts including drive train. Did turn 70,000 miles recently.

But anyway the track is currently more fun than the lawn chair in a parking lot.

Looking to get consistently in the 11's. Like to stay with the pump gas, 4 speed and a lap belt. Once I get off the line I believe I need the HP to get there.

So the thought is the Air Gap over the Victor?

Thanks for the input.
