Sooo where is the best place to mount speakers in a 66 without cutting?....i've seen some of those front mount kick plate panels they sell.....is that a good way to go?.....i don't really want to cut my rear or door panels

I flush mounted a pair of 6 x 9's in the rear shelf, cut the holes in the rear package tray cardboard and then covered it with blue speaker cloth. You can't see them in there.

but then i'd have to cut the metal out...i don't really want to do that
