: Harmonic balancer moved foward? 70BB May 19th, 04, 10:34 PM Just slung both v-belts on my recently rebuilt 496.So,I'm checking pulley alignments and the water pump,alternator and PS pump all look fine.BUT,the pulley on the ATI super damper looks to be about 3/16" to 1/4" further toward the radiator than the other pullies.I tried turning the balancer bolt but its tight.Has anyone else encountered this? pdq67 May 20th, 04, 1:18 PM Sounds like your balancer's outer ring has broken loose and is slowly walking off the hub!! Better consider a new one before it lets go, that is if it isn't the hub moving.. BUT, the pulley bolt's to the hub, doesn't it??
