Jim,

The Clay Smith cam is more aggressive.
If I remember correctly, it is a short-track race cam sometimes used as a street cam.
The UF15 is a very mild, very mellow, street cam. In BBCs, I use it to replace the LS6 cam.
A better cam to compare to the Clay Smith would be the TF80, 267 at .020, 239 at .050, 150 at .200, and .510 valve lift.
To get an idea of aggressiveness, look at the TF72: 275 at .020, 247 at .050, 158 at .200, and .530 valve lift. Remember, at .020 the Clay Smith and the TF80 are within 1° of each other.
I have used the TFs as street cams. I do not have the years of experience with them as I do with such cams as the UF15 or the 276/284--288/296.

Are the TF's asymetrical?

I prefer the word 'unsymetrical', because I reserve 'asymetrical' for those swinging-follower overhead cam profiles, which, oddly enough, may be symetrical valve lift curves with asymetrical cam lobe shapes.
I haven't designed a symetrical cam since 1977(except for 2 exhaust lobes where I was trying to kill off some power...).
All my UHs, UFs, TFs, URs, and TRs are unsymetrical. Different families have different offsets, but they all stay with the fast-open, slow-close, concept. Most of them are Multi-Segmented Polynomials, what I call MSPs.
The original rollers, a la 288/296R6, are MSP Is, but I never advertised them as such. My NR/TR inverted-flank rollers are the MSP IIs, and my 'in-between' blend are the MSP IIIs, which are very popular right now.
All the 288/296 lobes, hydraulic, solid, and roller are MSP I designs. I also still have a few 4-equation cams, hydraulic, solid, and roller. They are still useful for low-lift moderate- to big duration cams. Cams like the 272F are 4-equation cams.
All TFs are unsymetrical.

Awesome! I have a feeling part of the cracks in my pro heads were because of the comp xe slammin exhaust ramps.

Should have your TF80/TF72-112 this week! Can't wait! My first solid yay redface.gif )
