I have a good Powerglide transmission out of a 1970 350 Malibu that I would like to use in a 396 66 Chevelle. Were the BB PGs any stronger than this one? Thanks.

Probably, but you already have the makings of the stronger Powerglide. On Powerglides used behind a 327 or larger, they used a taller low gear (1.76) and a stronger steel drum. Really I would think the main difference between what you've got now & a 396 'glide would likely be little more than clutch packs, shift points and line pressure, if even that. Basically some different parts at soft rebuild time.

I'm not a Powerglide expert, but there should be very little difference on a 396 version from what you have now. It would be a different story if your Powerglide was originally behind a 307 or less.
