I just purchased a Cam from Lunati, and I have been reading a lot of posts about ICL, and you said that your cams work best advanced... so where do you feel I should install your 502A7LUN, straight up at 102, or advanced to 106-108? It's in a 10.5:1 496 tremec 5speed, single plane, big rect port heads., I am going to run 91 octane.
Thanks,
Jason

I'm certainly not Harold but I think the 106 to 108 would be retarded. I'm guessing that the LSA on that CAM is 106 based on you saying the specified ICL is 102. That means it's 4º advanced already (I think Lunati's all have ground in). He's probably going to tell you to install it at 102 or install an offset bushing and install it at 100. Probably not a lot of difference in performance from 102 to 100.

If I missed on this, I'm sorry - I didn't have time to look up the specs on that part#. Just got called away from my office.

Troy is spot on. You'll want that one in at 102. Do not ASSUME that there is 4 degrees in the cam from the factory. Cody had an issue with that. nevertheless, whether there is advanced ground in or not, when you degree it, set it to the valve events on the cam card which should be at a 102ICL.

68SS454,

If that cam falls anywhere between 101° ATDC to 104° ATDC, button it up and run it. It will be in there just fine.
