It's really the design of the spokes that cause the problem. In my case - my wheel spokes curve in towards the caliper, causing the probelm. Most of the Torq Thrust line have a similar design characteristic. The subsequent fix is different style wheels, or use a wheel adapter or spacer to get the caliper clearance you need. When you go that route - BS does come back into play as you may not have enough fender clearance for your combo with a spacer. Unfortunately I learned all this the hardway! craig leighton Nov 21st, 08, 4:52 AM Thanks just read your reply got some tork trusts today on loan they do not clear calipers put 5mm spacers on them plenty clearence now, not a fan of spacers and are illegal here in australia but have 2 options make up custom 2mm spacers that fit hub to rim snugly or machine 2 mm off wheel spokes its so close its depressing anyone done this? troposcuba Nov 21st, 08, 5:42 AM Thanks just read your reply got some tork trusts today on loan they do not clear calipers put 5mm spacers on them plenty clearence now, not a fan of spacers and are illegal here in australia but have 2 options make up custom 2mm spacers that fit hub to rim snugly or machine 2 mm off wheel spokes its so close its depressing anyone done this? if you are only talking about 2mm, is there any room to remove that material on the caliper instead of the rim? might be easeir. MJRIBEIRO Nov 21st, 08, 9:31 AM Craig make sure that measurement with new pads. New pads will create your worst case scenario. Are hub centric adapters also illegal down under? That's what I used - they eliminate the problem of moving the weight of the vehicle away from where the hub supports the studs. got mine here - http://www.skulte.com/ |
