Hey Friends,

Installing all new park brake cables on my 67. How in all that's sacred do you get the park brake cable pushed back into the firewall hole without removing the L/F fender and liner?

Removing the old seized up one wasn't easy but after cussin, cryin, and pryin it came out. It was a stiff as a board.

I can get the new one almost up to the hole but as many of you know it has to angle back towards the firewall and there's where I get fouled up.

Long screwdrivers etc....still no luck. This thing is driving me crazy...and that is already a pretty short drive!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

how about partially unbolting the inner skirt, placing a block of wood (short piece of 2" x 4") to space it away from the firewall, and then using the extra room to thread the new cable into the firewall hole.
