I have a turbo 350 trans. I am not sure of what was done inside but i know the trans has been upgraded and has shift kit. The trans was behind a mild built 454. I recently purchaed a 482 big block racing engine for my 67 chevelle. The trans seemed to work excellant behind the 454. I was thinking of bolting this trans up to my 482 and trying it out. The trans has a vacuum modulator still installed and i know this new motor will never produce enough vacuum for this unit. (482 BB, 14.5-1 Comp. 714 rollercam). My question is, do I need to hook-up the vacuum modulator or can I plug the modulator and manual shift the trans at all times? Will this hurt the trans by doing this?
Thanks for any help.
