Clean them chemically.
Use carburetor cleaner, it will not hurt the bores.

Did you try Berryman's? It takes the paint and rust off anything I have put in it so far. Lets it soak a couple of days.

I figure that Methylene Chloride is still the BEST stripper going, but getting it anymore?
So try "Easy-Off Oven Cleaner"! That or Castrol's "Super Clean" in the purple jug. Multiple soaks until a brass bristled parts cleaning "toothbrush" takes the coating off!
But, imho, if you want to media blast them, then use something like walnut shells so that you don't hurt the bores and such. Or hard plastic media blast stuff!
DON'T use "Black Beauty" or any sort of "silica sand", too abrasive for this imho.

Those calipers may be powder coated from the factory. Might be tough to media blast them.

i know a nech grinders wire wheel will take it off pretty easy but on c5 brakes lots of grooves etc if you have seen a 97 up vette brakes you know what i mean. brandon
