Here's a couple things I weighed recently.

(for 1970 307 Malibu)

AC/heater box with internals intact (engine side)= 20 pounds.

7/8 sway bar (stock 1970, with dirt/grime) with frame bushings intact weights = 10 pounds.

1 1/8 sway bar (stock from 70s Trans Am, with dirt/grime)= 15 pounds.

Front Buckets (1968 Buick Skylark frame, reproduction foam/vinyl seat covers, surface rusted) = 45 pounds EACH.

Front Bench = about 70 pounds. (stock 1970 Malibu frame, minimal foam required for re-upholst, re-upholstered in tweed and a patch of vynil)

That's about all for now. I'll weigh a dash pad for you guys tomorrow.

For those of you wondering, I am NOT putting my velle on a diet. The only part i took off purposely to lose weight was the Heater/AC box, the rest of the system was long gone before i got the malibu into my hands. I actually added on 5 pounds with the bigger sway bar (couldn't resist for 20 bucks at the junkyard). Also, i know the weights of the seats because i cruise on the cloth bench in the summer, don't like sitting on HOT vinyl. I'll also know the dash pad weight since its been un-bolted, just lying on top for over a year. I'll finally bolt it back on when i finish re-installing my stereo/speakers this week (which adds even MORE WEIGHT, lol.)

Nice work, getting these weights. The buckets from my 67 were 45# each.

My sub box and amp in the trunk alone are nearly 100 lbs :D

Plus all the tools in the plastic boxes I skrewed to the trunk floor to keep them from sliding...prolly an extra 20-30 lbs

With complete working A/C, larger front sway bar, buckets, the in cab stereo stuff, ect I bet my car is a severe pig!

Now you'll have to see how much coolant the hoses and heater core held, and weigh that too. :D

^^^^^^^Actually, I'm trying to work a deal on a 3 row radiator. If all goes well I'll get the weight of the radiators dry (well, as close as a i can) and try to get the weight of the coolant difference.

You can just go to the wrecking and yank one from a mid 80's Caprice. My 3 core is from a Caprice...made a HUGE difference from the original 2 core graemlins/thumbsup.gif Now if I can get my hands on a 4 core, or convert mine into one, I'll be set :D

More weight values.

Original 1970 dash pad= 6.5-7 pounds.

A-piller metal covers (1970 GM)= 1.5 pounds EACH.

**Alexis, I'm trying to make a deal with another TC member from Canada for a almost-new 3-row. The price is right for a good almost-new radiator, and he's throwing in an emblem that i need too. I hope he still has the parts. I have the money on hand but i need to buy my books for school before i dump more money into the car.

I put this in the tire section a few months back.
a 15x7 Rally with a 275/60/15 (almost slick and no trim ring or cap) weighs 50 lbs. A MT 28/9/15 slick with tube on a 15x7 weld draglite weighs 36 lbs.
