the neutral safety switch broke this weekend on my 68 chevelle and i called over 40 places along with original parts group and they dont make it. does anyone know where i can find it??

i know it is not vital to have it but i want it for safety reasons and it also gives me minor trouble trying to turn it on sometimes as i have to switch it from park to neutral to park, etc.

for a column shift or floor? they are for sale on ebay all the time i picked on up for my floorshift if you look in the assembly manual find the part # you will see that the same # works for differnt cars and years hope this helps i think mine was for a 67-69 camero colum shift which is the same for a floor shift 68-72 chevelle

it is for a floor shift. i was told by original parts group that the safety switch for the 68 is not interchangeable with any other chevelle year or chevy make because certain parts were only made for the 68.

is this for automatic? here is the ebay number 2440586301 for the one i bought for a automatic i also see in opg that they sell the same one

here is the switch part # 1993434 if you look at the ebay site i bought mine you will see that it is the same # also they say in the opg book fits 68-72 floor shift automatics

also the 1993404 is for the column shift same one also if you have the 2002 opg book it is on page 69 hope this helps ed
