I have spent the past two weekends painting my wheels to match the car, I`m really pleased with the result:thumbsup:

I'd like to see the "now" look with the trim rings....

I like the look of the silver "Argent" wheels and rings in the before pic.
I think it picks up the lower body color and looks great.
Not too fond of dark wheels alone. Perhaps a small trim ring that just fits the outer lip of the wheel might be better.
Only my opinion. What ever you like is what's important.

If you like that is good enough for me.

The only comment I have may be different in the pictures vs. real life - but it seems like the Rallye slots get lost in the darker body color vs. argent silver. I think it would look better with the trim rings installed - but maybe you prefer the stripper base model look.

I should have mentioned I love the dogdish hubcap looks, Dogdish caps were to expensive so i bought these police caps for the rallys and drove it for the season and have completed my vision with this paint, i like the rally slots hidden, i may hold up a trim ring to the wheel next weekend when i am back from school again

Love the look, was going to go that route myself. I have the 15x7 all around but may go with 15x8s on the rear. I thought about the COPO caps on the Rally rim, or the dish your running. Have seen your car before on threads, very nice, sinister now!!

Hard part is once you pop on a trim ring, you are sunk as the paint gets scratched. I have chrome Rally's and am running them without trim rings now, just a spinner center cap. I always liked the look of Rally's but have grown tired of the "smooth" look imparted by the trim ring. Without the ring, the wheel appears larger diameter and you get more detail. With those painted rims, you need either blackwalls or better yet red lines would really set it off. I bet a set of redlines on there with the car lowered would look great.

Well, since you created a poll and are asking people for their opinions, I'll give you my honest opinion...
The chrome rallye wheels look better on your '69...much better.

But, that's just my opinion (which you asked for).
It's your car, so do what you want with it.

-Greg

I think it would look better with the body color wheels and no white letter tires.

As stated earlier, redline tires would look very sharp.

The tires on the car came with it when I bought it almost a year ago, over the winter im planning on getting some radial T/A`s and will have to really think about if i want the whites in or out.

Would have to see it with trim rings before I could decide. The way it sits in the pics I like the before look better.

I'm just not into the body color-dog dish theme. I picked the silver.

I have to admit im more partial to the grey painted traditional rallys but it still looks nice either way.

Need to get someone good at doing Photoshop to mock up some relines on there. I look at this car and see 235-60/15's up front w/ 255-60's in the rear with Redlines and the car lowered about 1-1/2" all around.

Personally, I'd go silver with the "Disc Brake" center caps.

SILVER! I had mine painted the body color for along time. Now that i'm restoring her i have to say they made them silver for a reason. They look good.;) The contrast works.

I have always liked the silver more. But there are a few colors that look nice with matching wheels
