alright so the dude i was painting the tank for came and got it so he could at least ride to the oyster run. he only got a little bit of crap for having a half purple bike. these are the pics of the tank on the bike with no clearcoat. there is one line from the grapics that i was able to make line up pretty well without the bike actually here and from just looking at pictures.

Do you have to redo the tank or can you mask off the stripes and change from purple to blue?

yeah he was pretty ticked off about it but he thinks he is gonna get another tank in the winter and do something else with it.

with how long it took to smooth out the bumps in it and get it just right i would hate to have to get it blasted again and start from swuare one. i figure if i just sprayed the blue over the purple that may be alot of paint build up so when i would have cleared it, it would have had a step up or i would have had to lay down many coats of the clear and wet sand the crap outta it

he layed the bike down so thats why he had me paint it in the first place and he bought the plastics like that on ebay if it was mine hell yeah it would be primer black :thumbsup:

Thats nothin:) My XX1100 destroyed those numbers. Nice bikes though Kevin, I love the Honda sport bikes over any other. I have been looking at a bmw K1200S though, still dreaming.

yeah i got a piece of metal and i just keep painting black over it when i fill up the whole thing. its hard to see but there are two layers there i guess if you clear it then it makes them blend a little better but my car is FLAT BLACK

i think i just need to get some yellow to make it pop... although it is lookin a little grave digger-ish this way....

Looks a lot like thorns, but looks sweet regardless :thumbsup: I'd have been happy with the tank being as good as it was. From a distance, you wouldn't be able to tell it was purple anyway ;) Hell, blow by somebody doing 150+ mph and they're not going to say, "Hey, his tank was purple!" They're going to say, "Holy SH!T! WTF was that!?" lol

ok so i have tried it like 5 or 6 times to just practice and try to find my style i guess you could say and i havent been to happy. pretty much check on my photobucket it gets updated every attempt i come up with. i tried something a little crazier this time but only pay attention to the right side. oh and if youre wondering why green its the only transparent colour i have :) i know a little while ago rambo posted a tweety graphic on here if anyone has it could they send it to me? gotta get more paint tomorrow im bone dry on everything :(
