Were the OE trim parts stainless, I see the repos are alum?

TC, the vinyl top pieces were stainless steel. On 70-72 Chevelles the V shaped corners and end "spears" were chromed pot metal. Not sure about the 69's.

I would think if they were stainless in 70-72, they would have been in 69.
I was thinking of putting a vinyl top on my car, then I was thinking about the quality of the new moldings vrs. the OE moldings.(the repops are alum)
Looks like I need to find an OE set.

69's have stainless trim with cast corner pieces. Mine polished up to like new with little effort.

If you can find original go for it. The reproduction is thinner and bends easier.

The OE being stainless would make it harder to bent and easier to polish.
The problem is finding a good set. (that I can afford)

I put the repop mouldings on my 70.I was very pleased with them.
