has anyone used the Alloy brand axles to replace thier existing factory axles ? for $215 and some change summit has these with all the bearings and seals. found my axle code to be F 12 7 - looks like I may need the 68 version axles instead. it is 60" (hub-to-hub) for the '67 and 61" for the '68 right ? going to measure first and may take one of them with me. just wondering if these axles are satisfactory replacements. thanks from a reborn restorer...

since no one replied. installed the axles - turned out to be the longer version even though my rear is a late 67. alloy brand kit from summit is top notch with usa torrington bearings/seals.

I have them and I'm not too pleased with the wheel studs....Three of them broke after one week of use (80lbs, torqued). I don't drag the car but I do like to spin the wheels. I swapped an old axle back in to make it to the memorial day parade and never got around to replacing the studs. I want to upgrade to something stronger, but it looks like I'd have to cut the ARP ones as they are too long.

going to really keep an eye on those wheel studs. guess they may have used a soft material considering the rockwell of those flanges post heat treating. its no wonder they also d & t for the 1/2" thread in versions too. your posts have been most helpful for this ol smilin southerner - keep up the good work !!!

Do the axles have multi-bolt patterns drilled in the flanges?
1/2"-4.5", 7/16"-4.75" and (??")-5.0"??

yes they do, but I thought they were 7/16 - 4.75 and 1/2" - 4.75.

got to tell yall...I really like the fit and function. just did a rear hook up/burnout on my inclined driveway. (sure the neighbors loved it) all good. I think they are d&t 1/2" on the same bc as the studs 4.75 (you are right sir). good idea if you ask the ol heckler.....

I can recommend the Moser C-clip replacement axles also. they work real nice and are about the same price but without bearings.
