oh i almost forgot. Can anyone venture a guess as to what the horsepower was on this engine? It is stamped in a couple places PASS HI-PERF. Also, the numbers by the oil filter..... what do they represent? Sorry if these questions are a little stupid. Ive never had a BB before. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my book doesnt denote this as a high performance engine. most likely its a 325 horse, dont get all excited about the "high perf" on the block. all of the blocks ive seen had this on em.

the heads are 65-69 closed chamber oval ports with 2.06/1.72 valves.

i believe the number stamped by the oil filter is the partial vin of the car it came out of.

naaaaaaaaaaa ......... not as excited as id like to be. I am just curious about it. im building a 383 for the 69 right now anyway. I just picked this up cause the money was right and it was a 69 BB. If thats a partial vin number it would be cool to find this baby's original home.

JK is a 1969 396 325 hp automatic Chevelle application. Lots of potential there.
