Do you guys think that the Carter 172 will be big enough for a 496 with a 950HP holley carb?
Cam is 502A7LUN,
292,300 260,268@.050 0.685 0.685 108LSA
One of Harolds other posts said that the 502A4LUN required 2 110GPH Holleys or a single 250GPH Holley... That gets me wondering about the lil ol 172 graemlins/clonk.gif

I'm using the carter 172 on that motor.Seems to do fine. But,if I'm missing out on substantial added performance with electric fuel pumps then Im interested(LOL).

On Wed I will be testing the performance of my car with the only change being a switch from the Carter 172 to a mallory 140 electric pump.
NO other changes - Stay Tuned.

Based on the weather report 80 and Humid Low pressure, I should run 10.85 to 10.89 at 124.5.
Since My class has changed rules I must detune to run 11.00 or slower, So I will only get to make 2 passes. If ET is within the 10.79 to 10.86 range I will consider it negligible. If the mph is within 123.8 to 124.8 I will also consider it negligible compared to the Carter.
What I will be looking more for is consistency in the fuel pressure and mph.
I will also declare the results inconclusive if traction (read as track prep) are not up to par.
