"From within the engine compartment, you should now tighten the two cross-shaft nuts. It would be easy to walk away once the car is back on the ground, but you would earn instant "jerk" status if you leave these loose! You want to do this when the car is on it's wheels so that you don't "preload" the bushings with a twist."

I dont remember is if i did this years ago before my chevelle sat in storage for 13 years... I may have tightened the crosshafts before sitting the car down. Its been a while since I turned a wrench... Could I back these off now that the car is sitting and re-tighten them to see if my front end comes down? Its way way up in the air up front. i'm about to install the Eibach/billstein combo highly recommended from many on this site and i'm wondering if i should do this before or after?

Pic of front isnt that great but you'll see what i mean.

you won't hurt anything by loosening them.

Probably not. It's just to not put stress on the bushings when the car is resting on its full weight. You should loosen the bolts, bounce the car a bit and put them back on with some threadlock.

Great... would you use blue or red thread Lock?

Mmm... Blue? Red is the super strong stuff, right? Blue is good enough I'd think. I'm no threadlock expert though :)

come to think of it... my front end is very very stiff... what could be causing it?

Overly stiff springs, overly stiff shocks. Did you install rubber or poly suspension bushings? If poly, did you properly lube the bushings before installing them? Did you properly seat the upper portion of the spring in the spring pocket in the frame? If the spring isn't properly seated this could explain the front being too high and would make the springs act as if they are stiffer than they should feel.

i will have to check all that out... I'm sure its got big block springs and i've got a Small block in it now... any how the springs are over 20 years old... and the shocks arent far behind...

thanks!
