Hey guys,
Trying to figure out what I have in my 70:

Axle code: GCC 011 2
Casting number: 369277NF

According to info on Chevellestuff.com, the axle codes point to 1972 2.73 open, but the casting number says it should be 3969277 not 369277NF.

Everything looks like picture 2 in the 2nd post of the link below, except it has the pointy lugs like picture 3:

It looks like you missed a number when you wrote it down. It should be 3969277NF
GCC is wrong as well. Do you mean CGG? that would be a 3.36 open.

Look for the casting date. It will be on the center section and look like this. http://www.chevellestuff.com/qd/rearcast/casting_date_c50.jpg

That is an 8.2 10 bolt.

Thanks Freddie, that's what I figured since it doesn't have the square tabs on bottom. Just wondering what's up with the casting number and the "little" tabs that stick out on bottom.

So it should be a 71 or 72 according to the axle code?

Just checking if anyone else wanted to chime in?
