I am helping my brother fix up his 78 Chevy PU. He bought 2 new doors for it.

We hung the drivers side first, after 3 hrs of shimming and elongating the hinge holes the door now fits properly.

The passengers side took 30 minutes!!!

What a difference in the 2 doors, It just goes to show how one person will have a good experience and someone else will have a bad experience with the same vendor and manufacture.

We are still satisfied with the doors, he paid $130 each and his old doors were completely rusted out. This truck is just our parts hauler so things don't need to be perfect.

Had an opposite experience with a 70 chevelle and goodmark doors. Driver's bolted right up..................passenger took a whole lotta love :p . Just glad someone makes reproduction parts.

Well Bill,

Those doors did not fit even when they came from GM years ago.
I replaced both of my 79 doors in 91 due to cracking at the hinge area.
Had well over an inch gap at the top of the door to the cab.
And I have a door/fender gap on the driver side that is atrocious.

Gotta say tho-----new GM doors in 91 have lasted longer than the originals.
I will have had this truck 30yrs come Feb 22, 09

Replaced a driver side skin onto original shell on my 67, fit nice. Bought complete replacement door for passenger side. Not so good :noway:

It's not bad, but the gap between door and quarter is a little more than it should be. For now I left it that way. Hoping to do something with it over the winter months

Like "dirtrocker" said, I'm just gald someone is making the parts, even if they aren't perfect

What a difference in the 2 doors

That's because a 9 year old boy made one, and a 13 year old boy made the other... :D

I just went through the same thing. Bought a Veng door for my 77 GMC, wasnt happy with it, so I welded up the original door, and of course it fit perfect on the first alignment attempt!

I just installed new doors on my 67 GTO. They fit nice but where a little bit wavy and the door edge line at the rear of the door didn't have the same contour as the quarter. I welded the door contour up to match the quarter and it is now perfect. They lined up pretty fast to. Next come the front fenders.
