Is the valve in the trunk or in the bumper? Is this a rare option?

Air shocks were an option available under RPO G66 on any series/model except the El Camino where they were standard equipment. The fill valve on the El Camino is located on the rear shelf behind the passenger as 67T56Elky noted. On all others the fill valve was located behind the license plate bracket on the rear bumper on others except wagons - they were on the rear bumper as well but not behind the license plate; according to the Factory Assembly Manual the fill valve was further to the right.

Metal air lines were used from the fill valve to just before the shock itself where a rubber line was used - similar to metal to rubber brake lines. There is also a metal shield attached to the frame forward of the shock to help prevent stone damage.

Same for 1966 as well.

the fill valve is at the rear. i have the bumper off si it is just hanging at the rear next to where the license plate frame would be. it looks like it is a black plastic line. im assuming this was added as an aftermarket item.

btw, how do i post pics.

Being a black plastic line it's probably an aftermarket set. Originals used a metal pipe.

First thing I'd do is get a new photo host. Those constant popups are a PITA. I did manage to select a photo and click on it. You the get some options with one being something like 'share this photo' and choosing that option gives you the URL to the photo. In the forum, select the little yellowish square (Insert Image) and put the copied URL in the dialog box (removing the and portion of the copied link.)

When posting, clicking this icon will open a dialog box where you enter the Internet address of your picture file.

Maybe you need to change your message editor interface options FROM "Basic Editor - a simple text box" to Standard or enhanced.

Go to User CP at top left, scroll down to Settings and options > edit options > Miscellaneous Options.
