There were some metal tangs that stuck out from the axle tubes, are those still there?

noo those aren't there at all...
it looks like there is almost a metal tube or something right on on the diff itself.
my old line snapped so I just pulled it out. I'm not sure if this is just a piece of metal I can just kinda, "unroll" and put back?

10 or 12 bolt?
Here's a picture of a 12 bolt brake line setup, 10 bolt will be similar.........notice the red clips at the center section & the black clips below the springs. The arrangement and number of the black clips can be different depending on housing year but no more than 2 on either side. The black clips are spot welded to the housing. There is a brass "T" fitting out of the picture that is mounted above the gear case cover and secured by a special bracket attached by a cover bolt.
