I am putting a motor together based off of parts laying around from my dad's IHRA Top Dragster days. 4 bolt 454 .060 over with Callies crank to give me 496. 15.25 CR Wiseco pistons with iron rectangular port GMPP heads, inconel valves. Very large solid flat tappet cam, I will post specs soon. Hilborn stack fuel injection system, already setup for this engine. Continental 8" converter that I intend to get restalled. Th400 with transbrake. 4.88 geared 12 bolt. We plan to run this in my El Camino in a local 1/8 mile 'street' car class. DOT tires, through the mufflers, ect. the problem I am having right now is what to do about headers that will keep up with this motor. Any info or help that any of you might have would be great.

Hope you live down the road from one of the new Ethanol Plants that are popping up around the Midwest.
We have one about 4 miles east of Macon, MO on Hwy 36!!

Screw that, just tag and insure one of your top alcohol dragsters!

I can get methanol very cheap. We buy it by the barrel, along with our nitro. My dad thinks we should mix about a 30% load on the Quick 8 street car nights. YeeeHaaa. Any ideas on headers?

sandmann120,
Try lemonsheaders.com, they aren't cheap, but made a set for my 580. Mine are a stepped design that goes from 2 3/8" to 2 1/2" to a 5" collector that fit in a stock chassis. That should be big enough!
Thanks,

Yeah, thats about the size I'm looking for. Lemons definitly aren't cheap. Now I'm almost thinking about building a tube chassis for this damn thing. Oh well, it's only money.
