Harold,
I have a 292/300F6 cam in my 406, which is being rebuilt at the moment, so I'd like to know if there is anything better to upgrade to while it's all apart. I do want to stay flat solid.
This motor came with the car and has no cam card but is marked G0726.
Specs are:
406 SBC 13.1 CR
Sportsman II heads (good to .600 lift per machine shop)200 cc
3200 lbs, T400, 8" 4500 stall, 4.56 gears/28X9 slicks, 1 3/4 headers to 3" exhaust
Car has had best et of 11.29 shifting at 6500 but best mph of 117 shifting at 6800.
shifting at 7100 reduced et to about 11.35. (all on same day)
What should this have been installed to?
Thanks, Gary

Gary,
Since this is a bracket car, I have a tite-lash 401C1LUN that is 1° smaller at .020, but 4° bigger at .050, as well as .570/.590 gross valve lift. This gives .029"/.027" more net valve lift than your current cam. It should pick you up at least a tenth.....
What sort of fuel pump/line do you have? If the car feels flat and lazy at high RPMs, you have a fuel-delivery problem....

Harold,
Thanks for the reply, it looks like I'll take that tenth!
Is that the number I use to order it?
I have a foam filled fuel cell with -10 to a spin on filter and -10 to a Carter mechanical pump. -8 to a Holly fuel regulator next to the carb(850 cfm)and -6 from the regulator to each bowl. I don't know which model pump it is as the car isn't here at the moment. I had a Team G single plane intake but I'm going to a Victor Jr.
Maybe it's time to do the 2 Holly blue pump set up?
The car doesn't really feel lazy but I have been told it should make best et shifting at 7100. It picks up 23 mph from the 1/8 to 1/4. Machine shop says the valve job and springs are fine but I'm wondering how that could be.
The motor has been together for 6 years, having a few hundred miles by original builder street jousting and only 45 or so runs by last owner over 5 years and 60 by me Sept-Oct. Does this sound right to you or others?

I tried to order the cam thru Summit and I was told it isn't a good part number, they only used numbers.Did I miss something on the Holly/Lunati website?
Where has everyone else been buying these cams thru?

Gary,
Go to www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/IEC/IECC/Chevy4.html (http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/IEC/IECC/Chevy4.html) ---Your cam is the 33rd one on that page.
Actually, they didn't have it in stock, and probably didn't want to order it.....

I told him it was the number right from the web page. In the grand scheme of things it won't make any difference in their bottom line but I also had other parts to order to complete my motor that I'll order elsewhere.
As always, thank you Harold for your help.
