So, how do I lower it? Aren't these springs the ones with pigtails at both ends? Meaning I can't chop a coil off...

Do I need new springs?

How low do you want to go?

Easy and inexpensive way is to buy 11" single pigtail springs in the rate you want from Hyperco or Eibach from one of the circle track supply places... that'll get your car low. If you want it up higher than the 11" springs (and chances are most guys would!) you can easily make shims.

Tony,
I've got front and rear Eibach Pro springs in my '70 4dr that I'm pulling back out. Bought them new 4 months ago but want to go back to the stock ride height on this car.
Interested??

I had mine "reset" I don't know if they do that over there ? It's common practice here. But you could try 4WD suspension specialists or coil spring manufacturers.
It's not an exact science, I said I" lower and got 1-1/2 so keep that in mind.

I purchased my rear coils from this company http://www.coilsprings.com/ simply told them the part # I was using, the current measurements, how much lower I wanted it to sit and as an added note told them how much weight in the trunk that was necessary to achieve the stance I was looking for and two weeks later they were installed, very happy with the end result.

Thanks for the offer Bill, I think my car already has the Eibachs (per the Previous Owner)

Supposely, the P.O. installed spacers in the front to raise it back up (he had a sharp angle between his driveway and garage, and the car scraped)... So I want to lower the front down by pulling those out (just haven't taken the time)... I might even drop the front some more (cut the springs)... I'll really have to wait until I get the front down to see how much I want to drop the rear, but based on the way the tire sits in the wheel well, I am pretty sure I'd like an inch or two more...

Personally, I want it a bit lower all around (I generally like it really low)... Considered an "air bag" suspension, but thats not in my budget... I was thinking of the "air Lift" bags, for load carrying and maybe dragstrip pre-loading... I had several '66 Chevelles over the years, and they were easy to lower by cutting front and rear springs...
