HERE'S SOME GREAT INFO PASTED BELOW THAT A FELLOW TC'R POSTED/TIPPED US OFF TO ON A NEW OIL SPECIFICALLY MFG'D BY SPECTRO A WELL TRUSTED MOTORCYCLE OIL MFG FOR OUR OLDER FLAT TAPPET CAM'D MOTORS WITH AN 1,800PPM ZDDP LVL PER THE MFG WHICH IS GREAT. EVEN IF IT COMES IN LOWER AT 1,500-1,600PPM ZDDP THATS STILL
VERY GOOD.

NOTE:1200PPM-1400PPM ZDDP IS THE GENERAL REC ZDDP LVL FOR FLAT TAPPET CAMS WITH THE HOT CAMS WITH HI SPRING RATES BEING AT THE HIGHER 1350-1400PPM LVL.

& PENNZOILS 25W-50 GT RACING OIL THAT HAS 1400PPM+ ZDDP THAT HAVE LOWER ZDDP LVL'S THEN THE SPECTRO BUT STILL HAVE DECENT ZDDP LVLS FOR LESS MUCH LESS $ THAT ARE ALSO VERY WELL SUITED FOR STOCK TO MID RANGE PERF FLAT TAPPET CAMS SO NOW WE HAVE PLENTY OF OILS WITH GOOD ZDDP LVL'S TO PROPERLY PROTECT OUR FLAT TAPPET CAM'D MOTORS.

ALSO TO RECAP THE LATEST ZDDP OIL ADDITIVES ARE CAMSHIELD/ZDDPLUS/MOTORHEAD'S ZDDP ADDITIVE

NOTE:I DIDNT MENTION THE VALVOLINE RACING NSL/VR1 OILS BECAUSE THEY APPROX 1150-1250PPM ZDDP ON AVG WHEN TESTED WHICH IS MARGIANL IN SOME CASES. SO THEY ARE OK FOR STOCK TO VERY MILD FLAT TAPPET CAMS . BUT I DONT LIKE THE LOW/MARGIANL AVG 1200PPM ZDDP LVL THEY HAVE FOR HOT CAMS WITH HI SPRING RATES.

so it's not just the regular motorcycle oils that are sold all over the place?
i don't know about their zddp levels, but most of them have an "SF" rating on them and they come in different viscosities from 10w-30 to straight 50.

Derrick,i think your maybe confused unless i am misunderstanding you,this oil is mfg by Spectro a motorcycle oil mfg since 1966 but its not a motorcyle oil ,its a new oil type mfg by Spectro speficially for our older flat tappet cam'd motors so dont run bike oil in your motor,it has wet clutch and tans additives our motor dont need or like.
