I am in the process of rebuilding my 396. It is a 66/67 325 hp model, has a Edelbrock 750cfm, currently bored 30 over. Has roller rockers, oval heads. Car has close ratio 4spd and 3.73 rear end.

Have been looking at the new Voodoo cams but can't match to my wants.

I will be doing a stock rebuild but will be using good quality parts and the engine will be balanced. Won't be revving to real high rpms. Mostly a street car.

I will need vacumm for brakes but would like the "tallest" cam that would work for my application.

I looked at the Voodoo 60201,60202,60203 etc but can't make an exact match.

Can anyone help me make up my mind. I'll bet UDHarold would have an opinion.

Thanks

Dan,

The Lunati 302A1LUN was specifically designed for the 325/396. My 2nd Chevy was a 1966 Impala with the 325/396, and it was a GOOD one!
The 302A1LUN is about the same at .050 as the stock cam, but much shorter on the seat, and about .055" higher valve lift. It has the same quiet ramps as the 272, etc.
The VooDoo 250 is a good high performance cam for the 325/396, with 207/213 at .050.
The VooDoo 256 is similar to, but much more torque-ier than the 350 HP 396 hydraulic cam, 213/219 at .050, vs 211/214 for the 350/306. It will be at the limit for dependable vacuum in a 325/396.
All of these cams, including the 302A1LUN, will give big performance boosts to a 325/396.
