: Open air cleaner for 69 Chevelle 396 mwiggett Oct 8th, 08, 8:59 AM I bought the open air cleaner kit from GU part numberATE-3907. It arrived this morning. I installed the base onto the carb but I noticed the elbow for the breather hose points to the drivers side valve cover instead of the passenger side. I called GU and they say thaey have had no problems with this being used on a 396 4brl quadrajet. So why am I? Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?
