Just got the car back from the chassis shop. Here's the Chris Alston 10 point cage installed with a custom rear crossmember...I'm painting the rollcage tomorrow. I'm not fond of painting, so this should be a real pleasure. If you look at the welds you can see he tig welded them. Did a nice job.

Low eleven. Building chassis for ten's, though, and quick upgrade to nines. That's why the ten point cage. I figured do it once, do it right. Motor's coming from the builder in Jan-Feb some time. Should be around 600 HP, give or take.

Sure wish I could see the pics, but they refuse to load with my slow dial up connection. I tried reloading them 4 times and each time only two will begin to load and they stop before even 1/4 of the image has loaded. :(

10secBu, would it help if you just downloaded them straight to your disk/desktop instead?

Yeah, you guys should really resize your pics when posting them here.

I'm sure it looks cool though. graemlins/clonk.gif

Thanks for the compliment, Bob, Todd, Ken, Slowpoke. Well, after welding one in myself, and screwing it up, I figured I'd pay the big money and have it done right. It does look good, though. It's nice when you can find a person who does good work.

Oh, and rmchevelle, the pic's are resized to fit the board. They're still large files, though. The camera is something like 3.2 megapixels. I left them as large files because it's hard to see inside my dark garage. Sorry, dude.

I saw your posts on Maliburacing. I plan to do the same thing to my 80 Malibu but I will also be tubbing it.

Chris.

Was the person that did the welding NHRA certified?

Why you ask Leo?

My sons father in law went to an NHRA training class to be certified to be able to build NHRA certified race cars, the training was conducted by them, It may be a necessity, I don't know.

Not that I'm aware. I've read the rules front to cover and don't recall a necessity to have the chassis done by an NHRA certified shop. Can anyone chime in and verify this?
