What matters is the position of the bottle. Remember, you can't have it lying flat or standin str8 up, it's gotta have that, I think, 45 degree angle, not positive, but somewhere around that.

mount it anywhere you want, but if you mount it in the passenger compartment you must have a blow down tube out through the floor in case it is overpressured. This is also required if you run the bottle in the trunk WITHOUT a rear firewall.

Vertical is fine - you can unscrew the bottle valve and orient the siphon tube any way you want.

Put it between the bucket seats, paint it red, and tell everyone it's a fire extinguisher.

I meant - you can mount it anywhere according to NHRA - except you are required by the rules to have a blow down tube to the outside if it is 1)in the passenger compartment or 2)in the trunk but you do not have a rear firewall.

You can pretty much mount it anywhere inside but you must have a blow down tube.Look at my pics.I have mine between the front seats. That way I can turn it on with out having to reach all over the place. Also, the shorter the line the harder the hit.At least that's what I've been told.Driver

the shorter the line from the sol. to the plate the harder the hit...longer line from sol. to plate the softer the hit. The line from bottle to sol. should not have any affect on how hard the nitrous comes in.

I don't know but I do read a lot and have a up to date nitrous book that say's a lot of the big time nitrous racers use a shorter line [installed inside the car for the line to be shorter for it to hit harder.I don't?? but it makes sense me.
