: Pivot Bolt Problem

I ordered a new Powermaster 100 amp alt and the lower hole for the pivot bolt isn't large enough (1 size too small) for the pivot bolt to slide through. This is for a big block and I thought that I got the correct alt for my application. I called the tech line at Powermaster and the guy told me that I could drill that hole out to make the larger bolt slide through....:clonk:but that seems like a poor option. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. Other than sending it back and getting a different brand, anybody have any ideas on how this could work? Is there a threaded sleeve or something that I could use the smaller bolt with? I figure that I'll be sending it back, but I wanted to see if any of you had any suggestions. thanks!

I just double-checked the Powermaster website and on Summit's seach feature, both say that part # 17294 is the part I need and is what I ordered. Anybody else have this alt with a big block?

Do you have the correct stud?
It is 7/16" on the end that screws into the head and the part that goes through the alternator is 3/8"

Sure don't. The person who had the car before I did just used a 7/16 bolt that fit through the old Delco alt and into the block. Looks like that's what I'll need. Thanks so much for the help.
