Getting everything together for the winter projects, and first on the list is rear coil over shocks (I've got that Chevelle lean) Does anyone know the spring rate I should get for the rear of a 70 Chevelle? I've got Hotchkis stuff all around but the rear still sits higher than the front.

150 is a great starting pt. you can use 175's, but the ride may be a little harsh. it all really depends on the comfort/handling youre looking for. also, too much rear rate with no increase in the front will make the car tighter in corners.
i went with alston 150's for mine.

What do you have for front springs, and what sizes are your sway-bars?

I'm using 180 lb springs on the rear of my '70...on double adjustable Alston Varishocks.

Derek,
Right now the car sits on Hotchkis lowering springs with 1 1/4 front sway bar and 3/4, maybe 1" in rear, I can't remember. The car carves in the corners and ride quality is not an issue.

if my memory serves me correct, those hotchkis fronts are less than 550, maybe in the 525 range. the 150 would be a perfect match with that spring rate and those bar sizes. i only know because thats exactally what mark told me to run.
