I order my heads form AFR with the part#8033 solid springs upgrade. The specs on the springs are: 145 seat, 365 open, 1.14 coil bind, and installed at 1.550 . I'm thinking that this is too much pressure for my cam and need some advice on what I need to do to ensure I do not damage my cam.
Here is the cam specs.

Is 1.555" installed height correct. Seems rather short. In fact that must be wrong since you'd hit coil bind. .530-.026=.504 valve lift, 1.555-.504=1.054, coil bind is 1.14. They're probably installed at 1.755" or thereabouts.

Above is the information I got from a tech at AFR on the springs:
here is how they are listed on the web page.
"AFR Flat Tappet Spring, 1.550 part# 8016"
I called AFr and got the other specs of 145 seat
365 open and 1.14 coil bind. Im not the smartest Cat in the house when we are talking springs, so maybe in just cunfusing the whole situation. When I did talk to Harold he recommended 130-140 seat and 330 open, so that why i'm double checking before everything before my heads leave AFR. I ordered them Jan 27, so I should be 4 weeks away from them arriving.
below is Afr web page with the springs, scroll down to spring section:

1.555" is the diameter. You'll need roller rockers as stock rockers will hit the retainer. Even some roller rockers will hit, so you'll need to check that. Harland Sharps hit the retainers on my 1.443" springs and had to be clearanced.

I doubt beening 5 LBS over Harold's recommendation will be a problem. They will probably lose more than that in the first few cycles. If these are dual coil springs, remove the inner spring for break in.

I will be using the CRANE Energizer Roller Rocker part# CRN-11744-16. Hopefully they will clear and I will be using tall valve covers. I want the right springs withouit jeopardizing my cam to premature failure.

DEEBOO,

Those 8016 valve springs are AFR's BBC solid lifter valve springs, and they look very similar to my old #2021. They are usable with your flat tappet cam, but you certainly need to break-in the cam with the outer springs only. After break-in, however long that is, you can put the inners back in.
The reason I say 'however long that is' is because many people want to give the engine more than the normal 30 minutes to allow everything to settle into place, ie--bolts, etc. Of course you should replace the oil, the oil filter, etc, after the initial 30 minute break-in run.
Good luck...

I don't think you can use the Crane Energizer rockers, they most likely will not have enough clearance for 1.55 springs. IMO you should get 1.44-1.46 diameter springs so you can use the Energizers. Otherwise you will spend a lot more on rockers. There are plenty of 1.4x springs that will do the job just fine.

If I do change spring I will probably go with these:
Isky-part#235-D Outer w/ Damper 1.260 .886
130 Lbs.@1.750" 320 Lbs.@1.200" .550 lift
or
ISKY part# 3105-D Outer w/ Damper 1.490 1.076 130 Lbs.
@1.700" 320 Lbs.
@1.200" .500
Because I would like to keep my Energizer Roller Rocker plus I do not want to clearance the Crane rocker.
