I have a small leak on the left rear corner of the rear glass. My trunk got wet and rear packing deck. How do you remove the molding so I can reseal????

Also, up under the rear deck has a little rust, what paint color

Steve,

There is a trim removal tool avl. at most parts houses, around $10-15, and worth it's weight in gold. It will allow you to properly release the trim from the moulding clips with little effort.

Have you had this car repainted/had bodywork done? The leak could be a symptom of a larger problem, such as rust which has developed into a hole.

As Dan said, you may have a rust through problem. Water tends to lay in the corners under the trim and, over time, rusts through into the trunk. It would probably pay to just take the car to a bodyshop and have them pull the back glass and see what is going on.

Hi I can see up in the corner. Does not appear to be any hole. The car never gets wet, but I was using a clay bar to remove some overspray and noticed the rear deck got wet. So of course I removed the rear seats deck side panels so I can fix the problem. I guess I have to get that tool and dig further. Thanks

take a look at under the window area from inside the trunk to see how much rust you have. As far as removal, get the tool to remove the trim and if the rust isnt bad have a windshield installer remove and reinstall.

ok no rust, when the glass was installed they did not propery seal the corner. I have decided to remover the glass, clean up around the window frame and prime and paint it. I cant have anything that could turn into a potential problem. Thanks for your help

Steve,

Glad to hear that's all it was. Quick and fairly $$ cheap fix.
