when do you need different than stock length pushrods? My cam is a solid Extreme comp cam, 274 280 duration, 568, 572 lift i think are the specs. I plan on using long slotted stamped rockers. do i need a longer or shorter pushrod?

The way I understand this is that if you use stock type rockers, (like CC's cast Magnums or roller tip, long slot stock type), the chances of needing longer or shorter pushrods are slim..
But if you use the high-priced, cast steel and GOOD aluminum full roller rockers that aren't identical to stock in their pivot dimensions your chances of needing nonstock pushrods increase AND can only be proved if you check them!!!

PS., and it's always a good idea to check them anyway.....

The only way to know...is to check them.

Also, decking, shaving the heads, etc, will change the length requirement. I bought ones of those $15 plastic rockers from Manley that's a checker. Not only do they indicate short or long, but you can measure by how much.
