Hi guys:

Can anyone please help with part numbers for upper ball jionts ball joints for a 70 Chevelle? Are the part numbers for a V8 Malibu different than for an SS? If so what are the numbers for both? The numbers on the outside of the rubber boots are all I can find and mine say 9740081 or 9740031, not sure which.

All 64-72 Chevelles take the same upper ball joint. Moog # K5108.

You will find Casting numbers on Parts not Part Numbers. Part Number are a MFGr's List # and can be different depending who makes them. My 70Z uses the same Ball Joints as the 64 to 74 Chevelle. If I ask for a 70 Camaro Ball Joint they always give me the wrong part and I have to specify 69 Chevelle. In 71, Camaro Ball joints went to a smaller Diameter Ball joint; hence, the 70 Camaro is specific and uses different Spindle Carriers as well. Just thought I'd throw that info at you guys :o
