In the near future I will be installing a 380 h.p 425 torque 350 cid. Right now I have a powerglide with a 2400 rpm converter and a non-posi 3.08 10 bolt. My question is how will this combo perform. I may have enough $$ left over to either upgrade the transmission or the rear end (but probably not both at least for now). This car is mainly a week-end toy not a daily driver and I hope to get it to the track this summer. So from a performance stand-point what would be best?

don't waste your time with the PG, get a th350. Its not like your missing the torque, but the lack of gear multiplication will kill the fun. Just get a th350 if you can. The th350 will also be better at the track. In order to run the powerglide you need to be making a lot more toque and run a lot more gear in the rear. Have fun with whatever you choose.
