Ok I admit I did a search and there was a wealth of material about this however I am still a bit confused on how to remove this and the back glass molding. I have purchased the tool for removal but would greatly appreciate advice on the correct way to do this as well as not bending them. Thank you for any help. Terry

It's not really hard, but takes a little practice. Your tool should have points, and basically you run the tool under the trim until the point gets behind the clip and the roof panel. Then you pivot the handle to pry the point away from the roof, and with your other hant pry up on the trim. Try at a couple different places around the window. Once you get one or two loose, the rest are a little easier. The first time I tried it, I gave up, but went to a salvage yard and practiced, now it is pretty easy.

Ok that makes sense how easy is it to bend these ? They appear to be quite fragile. Does the molding have like a groove underneath and the contact have a round head and you simply pry them apart? I will be very careful and patient with them. Thank you for making this sound easier.

There is a clip every 12" or so that is holding the molding on. You have to slide the tool untill you feel the edge of a clip. then you rotate the tool a little so you pry the clip away from the car body and the trim will pop free right there.

Mine were a royal pain to get off with the tool. I bent my moldings getting them off but need new trim molding anyway. Take your time and don't get frustrated is the best advise I can give.

The moldings are actually very sturdy, but they can be bent. Stainless steel can also be fixed unless there are major kinks in it, Start at the base of the winshield, and try to get the first one off. After one, it usually gets easier.
