Im sick of looking at my brownish hooker headers and its either put exhaust wraps on them or pull them out and paint them. The last time I painted my manifolds, I just went to kragen and got their high temp paint and it lasted like a month or so. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Hard to go wrong with this Eastwood Product (http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=732&itemType=PRODUCT). I've used it on headers and manifolds and it holds up great.

Bar B Que black, 3 coats, one every 12 hrs, let last coat dry 24 hrs in the sun.
16 years and still no problems..
Stay away from wrap if you use the car in the rain, self explainitory.

don't use header wrap...your headers are not mummies :D ;)
They hold moisture..and you know what that does

They also absorb oil not a good thing.

I havent seen VHT paints out here in a long time.
USed to make a perfect argent silver, satin and gloss black.

Dont know what to say on header paint. I just shot a motor in Duplicolor ceramic high heat gloss black. Anything I use to wipe it down iwth results in paint coming off on the rag and looks more semi black than anything.

Maybe some of the manifold paints from Eastowood or POR would be the ticket, they seem like products that still have some quality to them.

I have used Duplicolor ceramic high heat (1500 deg.) with good results. As with any job, it's all in the prep. The first time they last 2-3 years, now I just touch them up.

If I was going to buy a new set today, with the factory black paint. (cause I'm too cheap to buy the $500 ceramic ones :D) I would strip it off and go with the Duplicolor.

Have them sand blasted first to get rid of all the crud.. Then throw them in the oven for 20 mins to bake any residue out... Then hit them about 3 coats of high temp stove paint. Go to a fireplace shop to get it...

I had a set of headers i used on a daily driver- did this to them, and they looked great for 2 years until i sold the car.

I like the dark grey paint as it doesn't show any staining very well.
