What is the proper way to adjust a electric choke? My peoblem is this. I pump the gas once and it fires. I then have to wait about 3 minutes for the idle to get to normal. I rev the motor a couple of times to lower the idle. If I begin to drive the car before the idle is normal then the idle remains very high. Sometimes in cold weather the choke seems to stick.

just loosen the 3 screws that hold the black plastic choke cover on it and lean it out a little- so it opens the choke faster. also, check to make sure everything is working as it should be without binding in the choke linkage, and that it has a full 12 volts with the ignition in the "run" position.
