Hey guy's, the metal under the package tray, where the speakers go have been cut up at some time. My understanding is they don't repop these, for a 66. What I was wondering is, if a 4 door is the same as the 2 door. Does anyone have a picture of what a 66 speaker grill should look like. I have 2 different ones, both claim they are for 66's. Should the grill be painted interior color or were they all just black. Thanks Gary

mine is rectangular in shape, painted semi-gloss black. Don't know if the 4 door, or 2 dr sedan is the same as the 2dr sport coupe.

Mine is rectangular,red, same as interior with chrome phillips oval heads holding it down to package tray. Trunk side has a rectangular insulated, ported enclosure surrounding the rear of the speaker ond opened to trunk on the shorter, passsenger side of the speaker.

Forgot to mention I have the black/white interior. Also the chrome phillips oval screws. Also the insulated enclosure. My enclosure was closed on all 4 sides. I think Hinchaws carries these grills and covers.

My original grille was oval in shape. I bought an NOS one and it is rectangular. Both had a grayish-black coating. I guess it's paint...very lightly coated.

mine came out of 66 chevelle that had been sitting for around 30 yrs. lots of mice signs in the insulation around the speaker, 99.9% positive it was original to the car.

I think either is correct....rectangular or oval.
