Leaning towards the ATI, heard bad things about the Fliudamper.

Motor will be a 454 and then I will put it on a 555 when I get it done.

Plan on spinning both motor to 7000 plus, street / strip

Thanks,
John

I have a fluidampner on my 454 street/strip bbc. I have hit 6800 rpm's many times. Mike (aka wolfplace), I think prefers the Ati dampners. So far so good with mine.

I never had any problems with the Fluidamper, but if your going to buy a new one I would get the ATI.

I look at what most of the race teams use and just purchased an ATI.

The ATI works fine, as does the TCI Rattler. I have used both of them as well as the Fluidampr and a few others. I got my hands on one of the very first Rattlers and it found its way onto a 9K smallblock to replace the ATI it had. Never any issues with it, or the others mentioned.

69 Ratt Vette. When you get that Dampner in READ the instructions (both sides)!! You have to use loctite on those bolts when you put it on the motor or they will vibrate out. Also have to use the three bolts normally used for a pulley even if you're using a mandrell. Make sure and do this or those bolts will back out. Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt...

I also use the ATI.
Just beware that the fit on the crank snout may be way too tight, and you might have to hone the dampner. If you want to get it on that is.
Also, I believe ATI says not to re-balance these. They do that for you.
Good company, I needed to convert my 454 ext balance unit to an internal balance and they did the work in a few days. Very friendly and accomodating. (we need spell check here don't we!)

I run the Pro Race Dampner. I have run mine to 7500 with no problems
