Well, I made my first ever 11 second run tonight...I was so excited my hands were almost shaking. I still think there is more in this combo, but I am tickled pink to be in the 11's on 93 octane, full exhaust, drag radials, and remaining extremely docile on the street. No trailer for this baby....aprox 20 miles to/from the track.

Here is my best of the night(second of 4 runs), I didn't make it past the first round of eliminations...but oh well:

R/T: .596
60: 1.76
330: 4.90
1/8: 7.55 @ 92.06
1000: 9.876
1/4: 11.85 @ 113.40

My previous best was a 12.10 @ 112. The changes I made were heating up the drag radials a bit more and launching at 2700 rpm (which dropped my 60' .05) as well as bumping the timing up a few more degrees to 32 total on the high end.

I am looking forward to being out there again sunday to continue working on the launch technique. Still trying to figure out if I should load the converter more of try the leave from idle and flash the converter trick. Not sure how much more the drag radials will hold...

Man this is getting addicting...

Good one! I know how frustrating it can be to get to that goal. I'm 9/100's of a second away, but, still not there yet. Good work! and I wish I cut lights in the .5xx range, it must look like I'm asleep at the wheel.
Seems like everyday another person seems to be doing pretty well with the drag radials. I wish there was a strip 20 miles from me

No trailer for this baby.... famous last words ;) My car is also completely streetable, well, except for the slicks, I wouldnt have a problem driving it to the track also. I have broken the carrier in the rearend of my current car and I've broken the spring perches loose in a 68 Camaro that I used to own. Its cheaper to own a trailer than to pay a tow truck. and by the way, congrats on the 11's graemlins/beers.gif

Chris,
Welcome to the 11 second zone. Just joined myself last week. I can relate to your feelings when you got that timeslip. Tremendously satisfying to reach a goal. My car is similar to yours in that it is run in street trim. The overdrive and lockup converter help me a bit on the highway. Sure is nice to be able to arrive at the track and do nothing more than let some air out if the radials and knock off some 11's. Congrats

Congratulations! That has be a great feeling. I was hoping for my first 11 second slip last night but I came up empty (see my post-New Best). For what's it's worth, my car 60's better with the converter loaded to 2000 RPM than it does leaving off idle (1000 RPM). Good luck with your tuning!
