JRS70LS5 Nov 4th, 03, 12:17 AM I had the same trouble and finally broke down and bought some MSD-31199 multiangle wires, no more burnt wires,or wires falling off, there not cheap but then what is. http://store.summitracing.com/
thrasher Nov 4th, 03, 3:39 AM I can tell you this from experiance.
If you buy a cheap set of wires they will not last long and you will suddenly have a mistery problem of deteriorated performance.Go figure. Why do you think they are cheap?
You need to spend about 50-70 bucks and get a set of wires like some Taylors or the MSD wires mentioned. Both have performance wires and race wires. Two diferent products within the same company with diferent prices.
USFATL Nov 4th, 03, 9:20 AM I used the Taylor Spiro Core 8mm wires with the 135* boots. On my Hedman Elite headers there is plenty of room.

427WOT Nov 5th, 03, 10:07 AM I also recommend the MSD super conductor multiangle wires. I too have Hookers with a HEI in a 1969. I got the preassembled wires for a 75-76 big block. Those years had factory HEI. I don't remember the part number, but I got them from Summit. They fit just fine over my Moroso tall valve covers.
shannont Nov 5th, 03, 11:21 AM I burned up 3 sets of quality plug wires in less than 100 miles, then I bought some Taylor 409 Pro Race wires.... no more problems...
427L88 Nov 5th, 03, 9:24 PM If you're using 2" Comps, and assuming they are bent like the 67 year ones, Mr. Haraway has the right solution. The 135 fit mint all the way around. I BELEIVE they are only available in the "roll your own" style.
Bob West Nov 5th, 03, 10:20 PM I'm using the taylor spiral core also, trim to fit, with the 135* boots...they fit perfectly
SibbsSS Nov 5th, 03, 11:44 PM I tried straight boots, 90 degree, & 135 degree boots. None worked well for all 8 plugs. I ended up using the MSD multiangle boots. They work great. You can bend each boot to fit each individual plug.

USFATL Nov 6th, 03, 9:09 AM Hey Gene,
Barnett Racing sells Taylor 135* 8mm already made up for BBC. I used them on mine and have no issues. I would suggest using the taylor wire looms, they look good and are easy to adjust and install.
Regards,
69ssmike Nov 6th, 03, 5:40 PM I third the Taylor 135 degree boots, cut to fit,it's easy and fit perfect. Mike
