i am restoring a 70 chevelle and have ordered bb coil front springs as part of the suspension rebuild.i am also replacing the front drums with a conversion kit from "right stuff". i have ordered rear coils from ground up and am prepping for the install but am getting worried about the stance and height.a search reveals cars too high/too low and the front higher than rear.
should i cut a coil or ask right stuff to switch me to drop spindles or install with a wait and see?the car was originally sb.
second question is, i need boxed rear arms as i am adding a rear sway bar-any advice on whether to buy aftermarket or purchase factory rear arms that have been boxed?
anybody with a starting point for me?
appreciate any advice

Install the springs, see where theys sit after about 100 miles of driving, then cut them as needed. Seems silly to cut first cause you cant go back after cutting a spring.
As for rear arms Id just box them myself, which is what i did. Nothing fancy needed but a 110v welder, some flat mild steel and some round stock to install where the sway bar bolts go through the arms. I did that and Im buying adjustable rear upper arms.
You doing the bushings while you're in there?

I would vote stay with stock height spindles. Buying drop ones could mean that the car is too low for your taste and thats a harder situation to fix than keeping stock height spindles and cutting the coils if it ends up too high.

The springs will be fine. Mine sat high in the front for a while but looks good now. You don't need to box the arms to ad a sway bar but it will improve handling. If you box them yourself, be sure to use spacers inside the arms. You can get pre-formed covers with the spacers built in. Also, don't forget to ad the diagonal braces that go from the front of the lower arms to the body. It won't help to stiffen the arms if you don't beef up the mounting points.
