My buddy that found the 65 vert has a lead on a 61 bubble top 409 car with the 4 speed, says he heard it was in rough shape, not sure about the numbers, he has to look at it, any rough ideas guys.

And get this, he also knows where theres a 440 road runner setting, he works a full time job, and I'm retired and he hears about all these, and I have nothing but time and never hear about them.:mad::clonk::clonk::clonk:

I know they are the "holy grail" amongst Impalas and that production numbers were low on 61 409 Impalas. My quick googleing seems to say 142 produced. If it is a numbers car that would be quite some find. Who knows how many are left? Hard for me to start to guess, impossible without knowing how "rough". Keep us posted on this one :)

Even if it's not a 409 but is an SS it's still rare - only 456 Super Sports were built in 1961 on all body styles.

Another type of full size Chevy thats hard to find is a --62 Bubble top with a 409. A guy I grew up with has one, In his 65 car collection, He has a 62-Z-11 and 3 --63 Z-11s including. AMON R SMITHs " OLD RELIABLE " He bought it from Bill Jenkins. My collection is not to large. Mine is a two car collection, DAAAAA... I have my 70 Wagon driver and my one owner LS-5 El Camino.
The good part is, I do not need a large building for my collection, The both fit in my garage........

I'll tell you what Michael, Andrew and Bradford remind me of a mule this old guy used to have, I'd have to guess I was probably 8 or 9 years old, around 1949.

You would see a few places in our little town with cows, horses, chickens and stuff like that.

Anyway, at a certain time during the day this mule would eee-yah for a treat, and a bunch of us little kids would watch the proceedings.

That mule would eee-yah so hard that he almost lost his wind.
