My car has the original 12 volt socket for a cig lighter or accessory. I am getting ready to play with my LM-2 O2 sensor, it's going to draw some serious current I suspect. Is there a good upgrade for the socket? Should I try to use the stock one? Or hide a socket under the dash with some serious wire to it?

Anyone got a favorite heavy duty 12V socket? I hate those chinese units with 18ga wire leads.

If the original socket is in good condition, it should be fine.

Most of them are seriously corroded and have poor contact. In that case, a replacement socket is a good idea.

Yes, I'd avoid anything made in Communist China if at all possible. Sometimes it isn't possible, and then you're forced to buy that junk. At least it should work for a little while.
