I'm wanting to change to a late model aluminum brake master cylinder on my 70 Chevelle SS. I have no idea what applications to start researching. Does anyone have any experience with such a swap? Stock disc/drum setup without power assist right now. I'll be stopping 3600 lb. from around 130 m.p.h. Any help is really appreciated.

I used a manual S10 aluminum master cylinder from a 1985 Chevy S10, Wagner PN R105801. This is a .954 bore cylinder and the fittings exit on the driver side. It's currently setup with Aerospace front disc brakes and cadillac metric type rear discs. The stock S10 did have disc/drum though.
Note that you will have to enlarge the firewall hole a little, and these type of master cylinders you must make something to retain the pushrod. They don't have a deep hole like a normal cast iron cylinder.

Wilwood makes a nice aluminum one with composite fluid cup that works great. I ran that with wilwood discs up front and stock drums in the back. Pedal feel was essentially the same as with the heavy early 70's corvette master cylinder that I was using. As far as modification, all I had to do was slightly elongate the holes in the new M/C to fit the stock mounting studs. Worked like a champ and probably dropped 7-10lbs of dead weight. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
