Well, I was feeling pretty bummed because my "real life" (my job) reared it's ugly head and I had to return home from Nashville/CB04 early Friday morning without getting to do or see much of anything. I decided to enter the bracket race at Super Chevy Atlanta on Saturday and Sunday to console myself. As I was unloading my tools, jack, spare tire, and other junk in the pits Sunday morning (I drive to the track, no trailer) the editor of Super Chevy magazine rolled up on a golf cart and announced he was awarding me an "Editor's Choice Top Ten Drag Car" award! We chatted several minutes, he took some photos of me and my car, and he gave me a really nice plaque right there on the spot. They also mentioned my name later in the tent when giving out the car show awards. I was stunned...there were several hundred awesome drag cars there, and I don't really consider my car to be show quality. It gets raced a lot, never rides a trailer, and gets lots of heavy street use, like a 500 mile round trip to Nashville in pouring rain two days earlier smile.gif I didn't have such a great day on the track (redlighted 2nd round) but I am really, really honored to receive this award. Not sure I deserve it, but it sure is nice!

Congrats...I received that award as well at the Pomona Super Chevy Show...They said that the pictures would be in the magazine or something...did they tell you when?

They didn't say when, but t he lead time on most magazines is three months or so. I don't expect publication until late sumer/early fall.

dude that is s awesome, your car is super clean as well. they prbably gave it to you, because how clean looking your car is, and not seeing a trailer there as well. it is an honor to get an award out of no where. i would be in my glory if it happend to me..

Congrats on the award. Don't sweat the gremlins, you'll be in the 12s in no time.

Congrats! Your car obviously struck a chord with the editor in some way. I like the fact that they are trying to recognize the guys/gals who don't have a gazillion bucks to put into their rides but do a good job of making the best of what they have.
